Open Question: internet problems dsl?

6 September 2010, 3:58 pm

I haven't had internet for like 6 months... maybe I'm exaggerating but it feels like it. I tested out my modem (westell 7500) which is new, because I thought the problem was in my old modem (westell 4300 or something). It worked perfectly, I pressed that recycle button on it, it worked but, when I pressed that at my house, it does nothing. The cables I got (6 cables) works, even the one that's messed up from the first modem. I know its not my cable(s) or modem. Its not my phone jack because my phone works but, when my computer is connected to the modem (yes it does) it has a message, "connect dsl connection", or something like that. Whenever I try connecting it says, "no dial-tone." So I don't know... my house phone works 100%. Also more information about the modem; when its on, it has wireless; but can't connect because of no internet connection, the dsl blinks: blink...blink....blink, the internet doesn't have a light. Ill add more details if that will help, also forgot to mention, when I called my isp guys they said, "it isn't out line." Seesh. OOPS! Meant, "it isn't our end." Sorry FORGOT TO MENTION! When I have my modem all setted up, the dsl blinks. Like when I have it only connected to the power and jackpoint, the dsl blinks. NOT normal blinks; blinks that go, blink...blink...blink. at the other houses I tested the modem, it was connected to power & jack and it still blinked. FORGOT TO MENTION! When I have my modem all setted up, the dsl blinks. Like when I have it only connected to the power and jackpoint, the dsl blinks. NOT normal blinks; blinks that go, blink...blink...blink. at the other houses I tested the modem, it was connected to power & jack and it blinked normally, ya know? the second detail is wrong third is right, normally blink one I don't think I put the part, I tested the modem at my friend and uncle house...
