To my understanding, most networks only send data in packets and because of this bandwidth (ie 1Mbps) is determined by the size of the packets and the speed at which the packets are processed/sent. My isp just changed the download limit on my contract from unlimited to 100MB per month. This is simply not good enough for me, especially considering what they're charging me for the service.
